Oxidizer propellant mix is the ratio of oxidizer to the mix of the oxidizer and propellant. A mix of one means only oxidizer is used, a mixture of zero means only propellant in used. The amount of propellant is related to the amount of oxidizer because oxidizers are sometimes used in a water solution, for instance seventy percent hydrogen peroxide has often been used in liquid rockets. Sometimes a propellant like water will be used to increase the thrust of a rocket, especially on takeoff. A propellant can also be used to power the pumps for the rocket engine.

Setting the oxidizer propellant mix to zero can be used to model the performance of water rockets or steam rockets. Water rockets are sometimes used in go karts. As of 2001, steam rockets haven't been used, they would require either extremely high tensile energy materials or very thin and dark materials, to absorb solar power, to be practical. The oxidizer propellant mix is used to calculate the oxidizer mass ratio, oxidizer mix and propellant mix.

oxidizer mass ratio = oxidizer propellant mix * oxidizer mix mass ratio

oxidizer mix = oxidizer propellant mix / oxidizer molecular

propellant mix = ( 1.0 - oxidizer propellant mix ) / propellant molecular
 
 

This is used in bipropellant rocket, tripropellant rocket, pumped rocket and rocket cost.
