OUR HISTORY

 

1902 Formal organization of St. John's Presbyterian Church.
1903 Sabbath School Hall officially opened.
1906 Cornerstone laid for new Sanctuary.
1907 Church formally dedicated to the worship and service of God.
1925 Union of Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational churches formed the United Church of Canada. St. John's became home to the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada and was known as a strong mission church.
1974 Sanctuary destroyed by fire; only the old Sabbath hall was left undamaged.
1981 Newly built Sanctuary dedicated.
1982

Friendship Centre destroyed by fire and once more the members of St. John's went to work to rebuild.
