The following will explain the basics of using FrontPage
Express 2.0 to create your website with. FrontPage Express 2.0 is included
free with Internet Explorer 4.01 and 5.0. If you are are unsure if you
have this installed on your computer or not please consult Step
One of this guide. If you have any other questions email them to webtech@axion.net. The
very first thing you want to do before you even begin creating your page
is to save it. This will save time later and explain how to save other
pages you may create in the future.
- Once the program has loaded click on "File" and
then click on "Save"
- Under "Page Title" type in the title of your
homepage.
- Click on the button which says "As File"
- Under "Save In" you will need to locate a folder on
your HD that you want to save your work in. You will always want to
save your work in the same folder. This will make it easier later when
you start placing graphics on your website.
- Under Filename type in: index.html
- Now click on the button which says "Save"
Remember that any pages you create and your graphics MUST be in the
same folder when you attach them to your page.
Below explains what some of those tiny buttons at
the top of the program mean. Click here
to see exactly what this button bar looks like.

a slightly more advanced feature you may want to avoid during the

either make it center, align to the left or align to the right. The
most commonly used button here is the center button which is great for
placing titles. |

Clicking on this icon will bring up a small window where you will need

other pages that you have created or to other pages on the Internet. |
Hints and suggestions
Graphics: When you are placing graphics on your page make sure that
they are not pointing to your personal computer. If this is the case they will
NOT appear when you try to view your page on the Internet. The way to find this
out is to right click on the graphic and then left click on properties. If the
line has file in it that means it is NOT in the same directory as your other
files. Both graphics and web pages must be in the same directory.
HTML: If you want to edit the HTML directly and not use the graphical
interface there is an option available. Click on 'View' and then click on
'HTML'.
WebBot: At this time Axion Internet does not support the WebBot
components that are available in FrontPage Express.
Filenames: All your filenames should be lower case and have no spaces.
