Henry IX was the first llama born on our farm. He was born on May,
8, 2001. What
an exciting day for all of us! Fortunately Maureen & I
we were both home at the time
and had the opportunity to watch the whole event, and take lots of pictures.
Both of
these pictures were taken on Henry's first day. Having been
through the entire birthing
process, we have a few tips for new
llama owners and you can find these in
our tips section plus lots of supporting
pictures. (Tips)
Henry was born around noon, and was
was up and walking in about 45 minutes,
and he was feeding within two hours.
At the end of the day we weighed him
and he weighed about 30 pounds.
Henry has excellent fiber, and Maureen
can't wait for his first sheering to get
her hands on his soft coat.
Henry's mom is Cashman Creek's Victorianna,
and his dad is Mt. Lehman Llama's Conquistador.
